How to Plan a Galentine’s Day Brunch Like a Pro

Hi gals! Believe it or not, we are just 2 short weeks away from Galentine’s Day and it will be here before you know it! For those who don’t know, Galentine’s day is traditionally the day before Valentine’s Day, February 13th. It’s a day where you get to spend time with your best gals, celebrate your bestie love for one another, and have an excuse to eat some yummy food. It’s a day for everyone to enjoy, single or not! It also happens to fall on Super Bowl Sunday this year, but that’s besides the point. If you’re wanting to plan a Pinterest-worthy soiree for your gals but don’t know where to begin, look no further, I’ve got you covered! Read on for inspiration and a to do list to help you plan a Galentine’s brunch in 2 weeks.

Galentine's Brunch Invite

2 weeks out

Start by deciding on:

  • You guest list

  • The time and location for your event

  • If you will be providing all food/drinks or if you’d like guests to all bring a dish

  • The general “theme” - brunch, galentine’s, etc.

Once you’ve established these details, you’ll want to invite the gals! This can be as simple as a word of mouth invite, but if you want to add a personal touch and make sure everyone has the details, you can make a simple graphic in Canva. You can start from the template I used and edit in your own details. I love creating a graphic then sending it in the group chat. Be sure to give an RSVP deadline so you can plan accordingly.

Galentine's day décor

1.5 weeks out

With a week and a half to go before your brunch, you will want to get some of your to do’s done:

  • Based on your RSVP’s, plan out your menu and order any specialty items or food ahead of time. If you’re short on serveware, you may also want to consider picking up a new platter or two for the occasion if you’re provided the bulk of the food for the event.

  • Plan a trip to Target! You already know what you’re looking for…cute pink and red décor, balloons, disposable plates, and the like. This is the fun part :)

  • Start working on any signs that may take you a few tries! I am a perfectionist with my chalk signs. While I can’t share a template per say, I hope that my inspiration photo is helpful! You could also always create something similar on Canva and print it out.

Galentine's Day Cake Topper

1 week out

Create and prep any homemade decorations or details you may have in mind.

  • If you have a Cricut machine, you can check out this XOXO banner template I created. Print it off on pink or red paper, thread it through some string, and you have a quick and easy decoration that looks adorable!

  • I also created a cake topper using my cricut that you can easily print too! At my brunch event, I used it to top a tower of heart-shaped donuts. All you’ll need to do is print off the design on your cricut using the paper of your choosing, hot glue it to 2 wooden dowels, and you’ve just added another personal touch to your brunch.

  • I also made a special playlist for my event, full of girly and uplifting songs that would set the perfect mood for my brunch. I’m an Apple Music gal myself, but this one looks great to pull from on Spotify.

Galentine's Day Event Prep

2 days before

As the event is getting closer, you should be feeling good and just making sure you have all of the small details accounted for:

  • Confirm that all guests who RSVP’d yes are still able to come

  • Confirm any items you may have ordered, if applicable

  • Do a dry run of your set up. This takes the guesswork out of what goes where on the day of your event. It sounds silly, but I swear it helps!

  • Go shopping for any food items or fresh flowers that you may wish to have at your event.

  • If you feel like you’re behind or have forgotten something, tap a close friend in the group to help. It could be as simple as tasking them with picking up some napkins and bringing them to your house if you forgot to grab them at the store. Most friends will be willing to help out!

Galentine's Day Mimosa Bar

1 day before (night before)

Hosting a brunch event could mean an early morning wake-up call. To protect some of your valuable beauty rest time, set yourself up for success the night before:

  • Set out all serveware and any non-perishable items so they’re already ready to go.

  • Prep any breakfast casseroles you may plan to serve, this way all you have to do is pop them in the oven in the morning.

  • Hang up/set out any decorations you may have

  • Get some rest!

Brunch charcuterie board

Morning of

It’s just hours before your event, so it’s time to make the finishing touches:

  • Pick up any orders you may have placed for specialty items

  • Bake or heat up any brunch items you may have opted to make yourself

  • Get ready!!! I cannot stress this enough. You will probably want to take pictures, so make sure you save enough time so that you can look your best.

  • Turn on your playlist, light the candles, and prepare for guests to arrive.

Galentine's Day Party

Time to enjoy!!

The moment you’ve been waiting for…the gals arrive! After 2 weeks of prep, it’s finally time to relax, spend time with the gals, and enjoy the fruits of your efforts! Hosting can be a lot at times, but when you get to spend time with your people, it’s all worth it. While yes, you probably could pull something like this together even faster if you don’t go as “all out” as I did, spreading the tasks over 2 weeks allows you to create personal touches, get everything done, and not get overwhelmed during the process.

My goal with Gal Meets Graze is to help all gals entertain with confidence so that they can focus on what really matters — building memories with their family and friends. I truly hope this planning guide was helpful and inspirational for you. Best of luck as you plan your own Galentine’s Day brunch!

Until next time, XO,

Krista
